Hi,
I'm new to Movicon and I have a problem connecting to SQL Server 2008 and showing data in a grid.

This is the situation:
- tried to import a SQL Server 2008 table in a datalogger/recipe using Windows authentication and showing data in a grid -> all works fine
- tried to import a SQL Server 2008 table in a datalogger/recipe using SQL Server authentication and showing data in a grid -> nothing works, or better: I'm able to import the database, the connection works and all columns are shown in the table, but when I run the application no rows are selected!

So, I ask for some help or for a tip that can make my application run correctly.

I wish to specify that it's not a SQL Server problem:
- mixed authentication mode is enable.
- firewall is disabled
- the database is in the same machine of the application
- "sa" user has got high privileges and it's the dbo
- in another application (coded using .net) I'm able to connect using SQL Server authentication and retrieving data from the database

Last but not least: if I try to connect to the database using SQL Server authentication in a basic script (to the same database and the same table) all seems to work correctly!

Now, what's thee trouble between SQL Server authentication and Movicon grid object?

Thanks for reading ...

p.s.: I'm using 11.2 version of Movicon.

Dear Sir,

Movicon uses an ODBC connection in order to get datas from the Dabase selected. You have to know that, for security reasons, the ODBC connection does not take inside the Username and password used during its creation.
For this reason, whne you need to use a SQL autentication, you should first insert a new User object, inside the UserAndGroups resources of the project, and then set the same user in the Datalogger/Recipe ODBC Manager settings, inside the ODBC DSN User property.

Best regards,
Giulia Fabbri
